Professional Biography

Kelvin Odoobo is a food systems leader, agribusiness strategist, entrepreneur, and author with more than two decades of experience across African agriculture, agribusiness, markets, technology, and institutions.

His career has developed from agronomy and farmer engagement into commercial agribusiness leadership, regional market development, entrepreneurship, investment, digital agriculture, and food systems leadership.

This progression has given him practical experience at several points within African agricultural systems, from production and technology to markets, business growth, partnerships and implementation.

Kelvin has held leadership and advisory roles across East and Southern Africa.

His commercial experience includes building Balton Rwanda's agriculture department to approximately USD 1 million in annual revenue within six years, leading regional expansion for The Hive Group across several African markets, and helping secure GBP 100,000 in seed investment for Ingabo Plant Health through H2O Venture Partners Rwanda.

Since 2020, he has served as Founder and CEO of Shambapro, a digital agriculture company developing farm management and intelligence solutions for African farmers and farm businesses.

He is also the author of two books on Africa's food systems and contributes to professional and leadership platforms focused on agriculture, agribusiness, and food systems across the continent.
